HAPPY NEW YEARS!! Hope everyone had a massive/awesome one! I shall get to the story of the Thumm-familys' New Years night at the end ;)

So, for the last 10 days we have been in St Anton, a skiing town in the west of Austria. My bro and I have been busting around the mountains, causing shenanigans and heading out to the bars after. Had nearly perfect weather; first few days snowed a lot, and then it was pretty much blue skies and so toasty warm- was awesome! A girl and myself managed to stop the chair lift once because we were completely tuned out and didnt realize it was our turn to get on haha; slightly embarrassing but woke me up for the rest of the week. On the colder days at the top of the mountain, my beard was actually freezing to my scarf haha, scard was solid thought it was going to snap if I took it off :P But any ways, the skiing was amazing, was tough to snowboard/ski for 9 days straight but was worth it. We made a video on New Years day to show you guys what it was like, should be up on facey soon ;)

At night, was a bit of a mix. Some were with the family; parents wanted to see this famous austrian boys choir- was a different experience, they were pretty good though to be honest. On our real tired days, would just be a easy dinner and rest the body for the next day of skiing. Or there were the nights were I went out with my bro, where each night out seemed to get better. So many english and friendly germans around so would always eventually end up chatting to some people like that. In one of the bars there is something called a "9 hole challenge", where they give you 9 different shots (3 are double shots, so 12 in total)... As soon as I saw it I had to do it. The record was 14.5 seconds, I was so sure I could do it buuttt, I think I drank too much before I tried it because I had absolutely no sense of time. I ended up doing it in 20 seconds, and even though they were all mixed, I really thought they tasted good together lol. Slightly dissapointing with the time but it was fun! Met the owner of the club we always went to, really nice guy but he was English and kept on giving us banter about the ashes.

So, now to the story of New Years!! We booked into a resturant which we thought would be the funnest for us all. As you will probably see on the photos, we were the loudest table in the entire resturant by far- as usual. We took so many strange photos I have no idea what we were thinking haha, but yea we had a fun dinner. Ended up staying in the bar for the night, met an english family and anoyed the parents because I was getting their sons really smashed lol. Nicholai sang "Mac the knife" with the band which was hilarious, and a woman ended up falling in love with him as well which freaked him out and made him run away into a club for the rest of the night haha. But from what I can remember, everyone was having a blast, and after New Years I was giving everyone 'New Years Love-hugs"... I guess i just wanted to spread the love??? After all of that, next thing I know, me and the parents managed to get our selves back to the hotel, I passed out in the hallway and then somehow... I woke up in the lift with my pillow... Ughhh??? haha, but yea, that was the short story of the Thumm family New Years ;) Next and last day in St Anton was just sleeping ontop of the mountain and some how I managed to ski down the mountain!

In between St Anton and Italy, we stopped over to Rothrist to see family quickly for one night. Sadly we had no time to spend longer but it was really nice to see them again! We all exchanged chocolate; so we gave aussie chocolate and we had a bag full of swiss chocolate now- currently a very happy thumm family lol.

Only 3 more hotels to sleep in until im back in Australia! Florence, Venice, then Dubai- so If I can my last blog will be from amazing Dubai! Happy New years everyone!!
