Firstly, i knowww this photo isnt Nice, Cannes or Monaco, the blogging website didnt have any from there, soooo I had to find the next best thing :)
So incase you didn't know, im now back in France, but this time to a more exciting part of the country, Nice!! I thankfully made the flight in the morning (spent hours researching 5am transportation methods to the airport, it was harder then you think!), so after a 4am walk to the bus stop, before I knew it i was on the flight heading for Nice! Was next to an elderly couple on the flight who were up for a nice little early morning chat, not sure what we were talking about as I was still asleep. But after arriving, had to buy a bus ticket to my location, where the ticket man was not so friendly to me because I spoke english (Ohhh thats right im back in France!!) Found my hotel and its realllyy nice! Have my own room this time, so sadly im not meeting heaps of random people as usual, however it is comforting to finally spread my entire suitcase all over the room (here for 5 nights so thought i may as well) and create a home-like atmosphere!
First day, walking around, finding the useful shops and getting use to the town! The main roads are pretty awesome- they reallllyyy love their green trees and grass here; they have so many palm trees and luciously green patches of grass!! Was craving a beach swim and tan, so headed down to a beach but to my surprise, the french prefer to have rocks to lay on instead of sand!! Is nice to be back at a beach though; the water is pretty clear, and the rocks actually arnt that uncomfortable to lay on! Not very good to try and get a tan though.. Headed to the supermarket to get food for the next 5 days and start eating properly again! :) Chilled at night and heard a man and woman fighting on the street for like an hour - theres this small little gang outside my hotel so just guessed it was them.
Next day was a day trip to Cannes. Woke up to a pretty decent breakfast from the hotel, then got ready for a 2 hour bus ride to Cannes. Cannes had some really nice beaches (sand this time!) and these cool docks out about 100 meters from the beach that you can swim to and chill on. They were really fun, pitty i dont have a water-proof camera though. Went up to Old cannes for some 'panoramic' views, however they wern't too good. Walked around the big brand street, saw some very nice cars (cant wait for Monaco) and massive boats, went on a 1 hour mission to find a store that sold a banana (i found one), then headed on the 2 hour bus ride back to Nice. Bought some strange desert thingy's, i thoughttt they were caramel spongy things, but the french and their crazy words tricked me. Though i still have no idea what im eating they arnt too bad when i put them with buscuits.
Today i finally managed to motivate myself to start running again! Woke up to another good breakfast, let it sink in then ran along the beach and up a hill for panoramic views.(this time it was!) Was a good run, nearly collapsed on the way up the hill which was a good sign i was actually trying! (or im just unfit, first option sounds better to me though) Hanged out at a park on the top of the hill for a while, saw a mini-waterfall with a meditating monk guy in it.. and besides that and the views, headed back down (some guy wanted to fight me just cos i got in his way? crazy french) to the beach for a wash-off, mini-tan and then shopping for the rest of the day!
Monaco tomorrow! I will definately be taking photos of all those cars and expensive items for all you big-brand hunters ;)
