Still no new photos, sorry, but we are now in Saigon.
How we got here is a long story - 39 hours by train!! Not all in one journey. We split it 21 and 18 hours, and both sleeper trains so we managed at least 10 hours' sleep!
The train pulled into Saigon Station at 05.45 this morning. Coffee in the 5-Star check-in [naughty, naughty!] then a taxi to the hotel. The 'Wotif.com' site is great for last minute bargains in four star hotels [20-25 pounds], so we're living it up for a while. Well you see, Ana just can't face a bed full of ants any more after a long train or bus ride! Poor thing.
Having bumped into a few ants where ever we've been, we reckon there must be trillions of them inhibiting the globe and frightening gentile globetrotters like Ana.
They come in all shapes and sizes, and we don't think there's a particular 'bed' ant out there. It's just that if they come across a bed in their travels they pass it on to a few of their mates.
Fortunately the one-inch long black ones don't like well ironed sheets but the tiny yellow, orange or black ones do.
Richard takes the view that, if they don't mind the presence of a human between the sheets, he's not going to interfere with them if they don't interfere with him!
