Weird morning today woke up in the rain so cleaned up the house for bout an hour, then after that we were sat out by the pool in the soaring heat – that’s the beauty of this place! But the best thing was the walk to the local post office to pick up my long awaited CHRISTMAS PARCEL from home!! Yeah yeah I hear ya saying – Amy it’s like March, why are you only just getting your Christmas presents now?? Well, Louise and mum can explain that all to you lol! But anyway – what perfect timing – puts a massive smile on my face!! Its massive, heavy n full of goodies – incl the best ever jelly beans, some pick n mix, some toiletries n some much needed new vest tops n knickers! But the best thing was all the xmas cards n messages from the family n friends. Really nice reading it all, but I had already heard it all obviously cause its all out of date by now hahaha! But still really nice to read!
So by now we have been here in luxury at Pip n Keith’s for bout 5 weeks, got a job sorted and transport (managed to get hold of 2 second hand bikes for like £50!) so now its time to look for new flat, but we had a chat with the guys first to see if we could pay them rent for staying there but essentially we needed to be bit closer to work. So with this in mind we headed to a shopping mall called Whitfords that is huge!! Good shops, the usual Coles n Woolworth ‘the fresh food people!!’ plus clothes shops etc. But over here they have billboards that people advertise allsorts of stuff on, from houses to rent, to fridges for sale to handy men looking for work so we checked this out only to find a house to rent that would take us like 5 minutes to walk to work from! Perfect! Viewed it n its perfect – big room, 2 comfy as beds, desk, tv, wardrobes etc. The lady Carolyn is a music teacher at a first school n is really nice (older lady) n renting another room is a Japanese student.
Managed to make it to see a film on the Friday night – Mall Cop is really funny!
So now we have our bikes we decided to get some hard core exercise in so off we went on a mass road trip! We headed to the tip to see if we could blag ourselves a helmet each (it’s the law out here) plus it was a fair distance away so that was good to for the exercise. Got sorted straight away there, what a deal too, 2 helmets for bout £5! Then that was the main task done, now we could hit the road for our day of adventure!
We made our way towards the coast and found ourselves (after bloody forever on the bikes in the pigging heat) at North Beach, then saw Trigg beach, beautiful Watermans beach all along the coast til we got to Hillarys boat harbour. This place is gorgeous during the day and as the sun goes down the pictures you can get are just awesome. The sunset pics that we got with the boats as you should have seen are mint! Such a nice cycle to along the coastline, we stopped for a seafood basket n an ice cream as the sun was setting down. Wow! Heaven! After this the harder bit was to come, the cycle back home lol! Wouldn’t have been so bad but we had to go up-hill most of the time lol!! We were shattered – as soon as we got in we were straight in the pool!! It was about 9.30pm and it was freezing the water but oh my god did we love it!! That’s the beauty of having a pool in ya backyard the luckily gits!!
Wicked way to end the week but it didn’t finish there – I had 2 days of work to get through including one of them the sat night and the clocks went back so was there even longer!! But hey – I need the god damn money!!
