After the short ferry from Koh Phangan we arrived in Koh Tao and managed to start on another diving course that had already started - they are good salesmen those Crystal Dive people!

So after some discussion with Carsten the crazy German instructor and a very quick lunch we started our Enriched Air (Nitrox) Course. This now qualifies us to dive on air with added Oxygen to allow us to safely stay deeper longer. Spent the afternoon in a classroom doing lots of theory which fortunately, for me, involves lots of Maths! With an offer of beer if we finished the exam before the instructor had finished his beer the exam didn't take very long and we soon got to the bar! After a warm up beer followed by a shower we then popped back to the bar bar for a quick beer with Carsten before dinner. 5 hrs later we made it for takeaway pizza a little worse for wear!

A 7am start for the 2 dives on Nitrox was a bit of a struggle but we made it! Unfortunately we didn't go to Chumphon, the dive site we saw sharks at, due to rough seas but we had a couple of enjoyable dives all the same. We avoided the bar and went straight for dinner with the prospect of another 7am start and hopefully a dive to Chumphon the following day!

Managed to get up, pack and check out in about 20 mins to allow us to do a couple more fun dives before we left on the 14:30 ferry back to Bangkok. Didn't see any sharks as visibility a bit rubbish due to the rough weather.

One day we will go to Koh Tao, not start a course within minutes of arriving and then rush back from diving to catch the ferry, maybe anyway!
