Wednesday it was a rainy cold day so apart from getting the morning street pancake I didn't leave the hostel.
Thursday I went into Shanghai with a different Australian I met that morning and went to see a Jewish ghetto as all the thousands of the Jews from Russia escaped to china to seek asylum. I could not find the memorial but saw loads of Chinese woman partaking in synchronised dancing. After we went to the tallest building in Shanghai which was a financial trade building with 102 floors luckily we chose a good day as the pollution wasn't restricting the view and we looked over the skyline. After this we went to the copy market where i bought a beautiful traditional Chinese dress and tried out my bartering skills i got her down from 280 yuan to 200. Yuan but i think i could have done better if the are happy to lower the price it normally means they have still made a large profit.
In the evening i went out with the group of Australians that are looking after me to an acrobatic show in Shanghai....easily the best thing I've seen since coming to China. I was mesmerised the things they can do and there strength. There was a contortionist, 7 motorbikes doing tricks in a sphere together, spinning plates, headstands on a stack of chairs and loads of other weird and skilled things. The dhow was 2 hours but it felt like 5 minutes. Anyone going to China must go and see this.
I also went out to a club in the evening called hollywood were there happened to be an international night giving away free food in the club and playing some Irish music the atmosphere was great and most of the people were foreign...no English though. It was so expensive about £4 for a lemonade... unfortunately the prices didn't stop me feeling worse for wear in the morning will just have to live on beansprouts for the next week. Very good day cultured and partied out.
Leaving Shanghai on Monday for Hong Kong so a few more things to see yet.
Inventory +1 dress

Maureen Sounds like you are having such an amazing time. I bet the acrobat show was amazing! I'm so glad your having a lovely time. Wow that is expensive for a drink, glad it didn't stop you though. All these lovely things you have been able to do and see. I hope you are feeling a bit better today! You will have to post a picture of your new dress (unless you already have and I just haven't seen yet :p). Enjoy your last weekend in shanghai :) xxxx
Nicola Watch the budget kiddo! Good to see you're still enjoying it though. Sorry I can't seem to work facetime - it's not an option on my iphone. You're going the wrong way with your inventory as well! Should be loosing items but you've gained two! (glasses and a dress?) told you not to take too much! The show looks really good and I am sure it is not as cold as it is here (typing this wearing a duvet). Much love xxx
Mum Stanley Well done for having a go at bartering that's the Maltese side emerging. What unusual skills we don't have anything to match that in England. You seem to be meeting up with many nationalities now. Don't forget to pace yourself or you will get over tired. Keep blogging xxx
