I went to stay in the Cameron Highlands just for a day and a half, and though I really liked it there, that was about enough time. I stayed in a little village/town called Tanah Rata right in the centre of the highlands. It was actually pretty cold there as temperatures year round are between 10 and 21 degrees. So now that I have got rid of most of my warm clothes, it was a little bit cold.
My first half day there I was feeling very well, partly a cold and partly due to the windy windy roads from Kuala Lumpur. It also rained alot that day so I didn't get to see beyond Tanah Rata.
The following day I went out hiking all day and got to see some real jungle anbd great views across the highlands. I started the day walking to the next village, the paths to which were all pretty easy and nice. From there I actually found anothr girl looking for the same path I was, so ended up spending the day with her. This turned out to be pretty fortunate as the path up to the peak where we were going was very long, muddy and deserted. We had to scramble through alot of it, using tree roots so get up, so both emerged very muddy and sweaty.
On the way back it started to rain and within around 10 seconds it had turned into a torrential downpour so we got a taxi the last few kilometres back.
I've forgotten to mention previously how good the food has been in Malaysia........it's actually quite a mix of different foods. With a lot of Chinese, Indian and seafood. So I've tried lots of new foods already.
