After exploring Colonia for a day we then trundled along to Montevideo by coach yesterday which was very easy. We booked into a hostel before we arrived and found it to be very nice- our room isn´t particularly spacious but the beds are the most comfortable we´ve slept in so far. We haven´t yet seen much of the city as we´re less than 5 minutes from the beach so have spent most of our time there! I´m even going a bit brown which is highly unusual and despite the factor 50 suncream! Tomorrow we´re going to hire bikes and cycle along the coast to explore the old part of town which is quite a walk but probably not too far on bikes. And much less dangerous than cycling in Buenos Aires! From here we´re heading to stay with Rose´s friend in Punta Del Este on Saturday and then heading to Porto Allegre in Brazil on 26th which is an 11 hour overnight bus journey! From there we´re planing to get a bus to the Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina and then on to the Pantanal before heading back to Rio in time for carnival so we have big plans involving lots of long bus journeys but it should be worth it and hopefully all will go to plan...!
