Ah Belgium ! So far it's been so relaxing staying in a house. We're staying with Molly's exchange student Laura. She came to Australia last year. Us gals have the whole top floor of the house to ourselves. I have my own bed that isn't a bunk bed ! The family is so welcoming. It's extremely nice of them to take us in. We sit down for dinner with them nearly every night for a cooked meal. One night we cooked up a storm of Shepard's pie, followed by a nice Aussie pavlova topped with mixed berries and cream. They loved it! We've been into Grande Place which is the main area of the city. We got a photo with manneken pis which is Belgium's famous sculpture of a little boy peeing. There's also plenty of sweet chocolates and waffles to buy and indulge in around Belgium. Even the Special K at breakfast today had chocolate in it! i finally bought a little travel guitar that i haven't stopped playing all day today. The tips of my fingers are hurting because they're getting used to the pressure you have to put on the strings again. Mol,Bek and I went out for lunch yesterday to a marionette but it was closed so we're hopefully going back another day. We ate lunch in the city square and I tried French onion soup that I missed out on in Paris. It had a massive hunk of cheese in it that slowly melted and became stringy. It was so delicious to dip your bread in the cheesy oniony bowl! Laura took us to her friends gathering last night and I gave my French a crack. It was fun speaking to all her friends in French. We're just about to go out for dinner with Laura who's been studying for her uni exam all day. Just quickly, last night Dominique, Laura's mum made te best dinner ever! We had Belgium mussels that had been slowly cooked in white wine. We also had an edible thin seafood basket full of salad, little shrimp and smoked salmon.Oh my god Carl will be so jealous when I upload a photo from the camera soon. Ill upload more photos when I can. We're going bar hopping on Friday with Laura and her brother and that's about all we've got planned for the rest of Belgium besides exercising when we can. I think I'll take Kiera the Dalmatian for a run tomorrow.

Michael Nelms Hi Al, Brussels looks old and historic. Very beautiful. Nice to read about the guitar - got to keep your skills going (and you really do have so many skills!!!). The sea food dinner sounds yummy. Nice chocky over there? Love Dad XX
alice123 Haha thanks dad! Yes we've tried Belgium chocolate , it was really sweet. My favourite is Milka , that's kind of like Cadbury at home but a lot smoother and thinner!
Sandra Just checked your latest blog and all of your photos. You are obviously having a wonderful time and doing lots. One week from tomorrow I will be picking you up at the Airport in Göteborg! We are all really excited about this. I just checked the weather in Brussels. Ours is pretty similar. See you soon! Love, San
