Boy oh boy did time fly in Sweden. After being picked up at Gothenburg airport by Aunty Sandra, I was pleasantly surprised to see mum sitting in their lounge room! It was Sandra and Lennarts birthday present to me, and I can't thank them enough! It was so nice to spend time with mumsie again and we got to have numerous coffees together. Just what I had missed. Sandra's lake house is beautiful. The girls and I thought it was heaven swimming in the fresh water and lyeing on the wooden jetty at the bottom of their property. It was nice to finally meet the cousins kids. The first night all the family came round for a delicious barbecue and I met the theatrical Matilda who danced on the deck, and the shy little Joar who has the cutest little dimples when he smiles. The cousins cousins, Agnes and Lucas took us out in Sweden on two separate nights. They're both really friendly and we got to meet some of their Swedish friends. I also don't mind drinking beer now as we visited heaps of different pubs and had the Swedish beer, Pripps. I really want both of them to come to Australia! Sandra kindly let us stay at her flat in the city after both these nights which made getting home so much easier. When it wasn't raining too heavy in Sweden, we all went for big walks around the forest and took the little white dog enzo too. One day we ventured through the forest for about 5 hours. We stopped at some rocks for some sandwiches and coffee and also had a dip in the lake. One day, Mum Sandra and I visited my great Aunt Brita. As we drank coffee and ate canil buller, Brita rattled off in Swedish to Sandra as mum and I intentively listened. I gave my piano skills a crack on Britas piano. Then she had a go which was really nice to hear that she can still play. All in all Sweden was relaxing and just what we needed to refresh, as it was the half way point of our trip. Lennart and Sandra were extremely hospitable which made the stay even better. It was sad saying goodbye to Sandra and also Mum again at the airport. However we're off to Greece for our contiki tour which we're all excited for. I'll try to blog as much as possible in Greece.
Ps nearly forgot to write about the jam session we went to. Mol and I got to play guitar and drums with Sandra's friend Pelle. He invited us to this little studio where he jams with his son. I had a crack on drums as Pelle ripped out epic solos and lead breaks on his Gibson guitar. It was actually so much fun and we kept changing instruments. I had a go on the bass, drums and guitar.
I'm so glad we did it and I'm definitely going to practice my electric guitar when I get home. Keep posted xoxo Alice
