We've been in Darwin for almost 2 weeks now - the time is flying by! Our friends, Garry & Helen Cook and their 4 children have generously welcomed us into their home while we are here and have given us a lovely room to stay in while we cleaned up the car and caravan. Unfortunately, we missed out on seeing Mum & Dad due to the volcano ash from Indonesia causing all the flights to be disrupted - so that was very sad :( We were still able to spend some time with Ken & Giselle and the girls before they left Darwin which was really special :) We will be in Darwin for a few more weeks, so have both applied for some casual work while we are here. Darwin has grown a lot since we were last here, 16 years ago, but it still has a relaxed, friendly lifestyle and a vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere about it. Amazingly, we 'bumped' into friends from Tasmania, Simon & Veronica Matthews who were up in Darwin for a work conference and then again at Mindil Beach Markets! We call them 'God-incidents'... not co-incidents! So we ended up meeting for a lovely dinner on the waterfront!
