Continuing on from Lawn Hill, we drove to Kingfisher Camp via a picturesque dirt track which meandered through cattle properties (meaning opening and closing numerous gates), creek crossings and lots of 'bull dust'! Kingfisher Camp is a lovely grassy, shady campsite on Bowthorn Station by the Nicholson River, and we initially had the whole place to ourselves! Alf did a bit of fishing and caught an impressive sized garfish, while I continued my role as the croc lookout! We had a look at the stockmen branding and rounding up the cattle too. The temperatures here are low 30's with cooler nights. We continued on the Savannah Way through Hell's Gate and crossing into the Northern Territory, with a night in the bush before arriving at Borroloola. We've seen wild brumby's, kangaroos, and even a big wild pig on the road. After a night at King Ash Bay, another barra fishing mecca, and enjoying a wine and calamari (seeing we've run out of our supply!), we're heading further to explore Limmen National Park.
