Limmen National Park is a remote area officially declared as a national park in 2012, so it is relatively new for visitors to explore. The road through the park is a mixture of rough dirt track with numerous creek crossings and washouts - causing us to lose our front number plate!
Our first campsite was Lorella Springs, which is now quite familiar to a lot of people due to the 'All 4 Adventure' TV show which promoted it recently. It's a lovely wilderness camp which boasts numerous swimming holes and waterfalls as well as 4WDing and fishing, with access to the coastal gulf. We only camped one night due to the cost, but had a lovely grassy spot and a soak in the thermal spring with other travellers - some we had met at previous campsites.
It looks like a great place for a longer planned stay but BYO as they charged $9 for a beer! We continued on, taking a walk through the Southern 'Lost City' (I think every park seems to have a 'lost city') which has amazing spires of rock formations. A couple of people got bogged in a small sandy patch, but so far for us the car and van have proven their off-road capability (maybe the driver has a part to play there too!) We also stayed at a beautiful little campsite with a safe swimming hole - Butterfly Springs.
We've fished a couple of times, but...still no barra!!
