On Day 38, I first headed to the Post Office to send a package back to the UK, so mum keep an eye on the post, enclosed will be some leaflets and some postcards, now I apologise to anyone that will get a postcard with a British stamp on it, it's just that the Australian government decide to charge tourists a bit of money for sending a single post card back to the UK, and as much as I love everyone $2.60 for each stamp is a bit too much for me! After the PO I finally headed to St. Kilda on the 112 Tram from Collins Street right to the centre of St. Kilda, when I arrived there it was a bit clouded over but I can see what attracts people/tourists/backpackers to this area with beautiful golden beaches that I'm sure anyone could spend hours on. Also there is the St. Kilda Jetty which was a nice walk in the windy sea breeze, at the end of the jetty there is a kiosk which used to be an old pavilion building but has been redeveloped as part of the regeneration of St. Kilda's Jetty/Pier, the kiosk was designed by James Charles Morell and built in 1904 by John W. Douglas, it was proposed and operated by Francis Parer. Until the 1930s the structure was widely known as Parer's Pavilion however its actual name was the Austral Refreshment Rooms. In the 1930s it was renamed Kerby's Kiosk. Just beyond the Kiosk is the breakwater which has become renowned for being the habitat of Port Phillip's only Little Penguin colony which arrived in 1992 I believe, they are easily seen at dusk when they tend to come out of the sea from a day's fishing, but as I was there midday I didn't have very high hopes, but luck was once again on my side and I could see one snuggled away under some of the rocks, I know the pictures aren't the best but I was happy that I got to see a St. Kilda Little Penguin. On my way back down the pier the sun came out along with blue skies and truly showed me what a beautiful place St. Kilda was. After I got back to Peter's & Susie's house I was picked up by Jono who one of Peter's sons and he asked if I wanted to go to the gym, so I thought why not especially as I haven't been for a while, so we headed to the gym for an hour and then came back to the house where I had some of the leftover lasagne for dinner before playing a bit of football with Sam and Josh.
