Day 28, once I had finally woken up I again headed into the CBD on the tram and decided to visit the Eureka Skydeck Tower where on the 88th floor you can see the whole of Melbourne plus surrounding areas including St. Kilda, Gellong and other places. I thought I would do this today as it was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures around 34 degrees, and the view was pretty spectacular I took a few pictures but it was hard with all the reflections coming of the glass anyway they aren't too bad. Whilst up on the 88th floor you can experience what they call is the edge which is a platform that extends 3 metres out of the building and looks over the city for a few minutes, got to admit that it was an incredible experience and I'm glad I didn't miss out on doing it. After being sky high I thought I had better come down to earth and decided to visit the Melbourne Museum and The Royal Exhibition Building, both of these buildings contrast from one another with The Royal Exhibition Building being built a hundred odd years ago, whereas the Museum was in the last 20 years or so. But I suppose in today's society you always get the old with the new, but the museum was a fact filled place with a mind and body, life and animal, Aboringinal, South Pacific and Australian sections each containing many different types of artefacts and providing you with a detailed history of each item and the history behind whichever section you were in. The museum was also exhibiting a special exhibition celebrating 50 years of making 007, so it was amazing to see all the different clothes and implements that were used in the James Bond films and the story boards and sketches that show you how much work and detail goes into each film they produce. I also got to have my picture with THE Aston Martin DB5 probably Mr Bond's most famous car so that was pretty cool, I know someone in particular not mentioning any names (Megan Tye) would have loved this exhibition and would be like a child in a candy shop. I then headed over to The Royal Exhibition Building which is a majestic building that has housed many famous and posh occasions including winter balls/parliamentary dinners and more recently markets showing the skills of local traders with their crafts and produce. I then caught the tram home to plan my next day in the big city of Melbourne.
