Day 37 I headed into the CBD and caught the number 119 Tram to the Queen Victoria Markets which were slightly similar to those in Adelaide, but out the back of the food market was an arts and crafts market, with many different categories of items that you could purchase, obviously you had a lot of souvenir stalls who are run by people who will see a tourist from a mile off and will try and charge you a bit too much, so make sure you are good at haggling because I managed to save myself a lot of money. On one stall there was an aboriginal painter who was decorating things from canvas prints to wine holders and many other fascinating objects, his name was Valdo and when I was there he was showing me how he goes about painting each object with such precision not to make an error. He was a very nice and talented man who made some exquisite products so I had no problems picking a few to bring home with me, so mum be ready for the first box to come back soon! Once having explored all the stalls that the market had to offer I headed over to the Radisson Hotel which was just down from the markets so I had to pop in there so I could let Martin my brother know what it is like compared to the one he works at in Cardiff, and don't worry bro it wasn't a patch on it!
I decided to catch the Tram back to the CBD and enquire at the Post Office how much/how long it would take to send things back to the UK and obviously the cheapest way is by Sea Mail as long as you are prepared for it to take 3 months. And I shall have to wait and see how much it costs me on Thursday when I post it, fingers crossed it will get home alright. That evening Peter, Sam, Josh & I headed up to one of the local ovals and went to watch Nick one of Peter's sons play 20/20 cricket, when we arrived Nick's team had already fielded with the opposition getting 103 runs off 20 overs, so we watched Nick's team bat and after 11 overs they had achieved the amount they needed to win (106) with one of the lads completing his half century by batting a 4 on the ball that won them the match. Nick & I then headed off to the local restaurant with four of the other cricketers to have food and some beers which was a nice way to end the day.
