We arrived in Hoi on 4th June at 6am. We were tired from the overnight journey on the sleeper bus so we checked into the hotel where they dropped us off. At $10 US a night it was more than we would normally pay, but was probably the nicest place we stayed so far. It had air-con, bath, swimming pool and free toiletries (took the lot).
