We set off for 4000 islands on an overnight sleeper bus that left Vientiene around 8pm. The station was packed full of these buses with ridiculous neon lights all over them called "king of bus". This is going to be a short blog as Vientiane was pretty rubbish to be honest, and we only spent two nights there. We ended up staying in a complete hole of a guesthouse. Our room smelt funny. We arrived in Vang Vieng on 29th April. The journey from Luang Prabang was fine, and we saw some cool villages and mountain scenery on the way. We left Pai for the Laos border at 8pm as planned on a minibus. The journey took us back over the mountain roads towards Chiang Mai and was supposed to take 6 hours.
