San Pedro, a wee town by a large lake. Four of us rocked up to this place for Spanish lessons at dirt cheap prices. We are talking £5.20 for three hours of private lessons. My kind of town.
Four lessons in and there is un poco espanol en mi cabeza.
Activities so far have been walking up San Pedro volcan (approx 1600m from the base) in three hours. It turns out I'm very unfit. And canoeing today in the lake.

Eight days into lessons and there has been some improvement. Some other notable facts are:
Seen a hummingbird.
The earth tremored (sp?) when I was in the market last week (I'm not going to say earth quake because it was so small).
Been cooking dinners with one of the teachers.
Had a great night of dancing for a boy's (from the boat trip) birthday at the weekend.
Went to a big market in a town called Chichicastenango on Sunday. I bought a tin cup.
It's been cold showers for nearly two weeks now.
There is THE best smoothie maker at the corner of the basketball court behind the market, which leads me onto my next point..
There are basketball being played everywhere, which is ironic because Guatemalans are short people.
