After two days I would like to add an extra note to big this place up. So far the landscape has been amazing, so green with big booming mountains everywhere.
The people don't speak English which makes it a challenge, and a welcomed one, and is refreshing to see, I mean hear.
The women are tiny and cute and when in the traditional dress look bloody amazing. There seems to be a standard bright patterned skirt as standard with a top I would compare with a strap top then draped over that is a brightly coloured net style shawl.
There is more poverty here than what I seen in Mexico or Belize and its more what I imagined central America to be like. Pollution in guat city was not as bad as I'd expected with it being one of the biggest cities in central America - Havana was a lot worse. There are a lot of armed guards everywhere - banks, supermarkets, farmacies, even our hostel last night but I met a expat here who said she felt safe, without being stupid, in Guatemala. She warned me about the cobbles in Antigua, she did say they could be dangerous.
