The day before we head off to Machu Pichu we both feel ill and decided to have an easy day.
Both feeling sorry for ourselves we went to Jack's cafe again and after a brief wait ourselves we sat at a table. Struggling to eat we have saved some of our sandwich, then to be eaten for dinner.
Wandering towards the market, we stopped to sit in the main plaza. Being approached by a shoe shiner claiming one soles per shoe, Abigail decided she would get hers polished. It had me in hysterics when he then said it would be thirty-five soles for both after he had perfectly polished the first shoe. Being far from pleased Abigail said she would pay twenty which was his price of one shoe and I genuinely thought she was going to walk around with one shoe polished, one unpolished. Eventually he folded and said twenty for both shoes as he quickly finished the second shoe in half the tie.
With that palaver organised we went back to the food market grabbing some fake ray-bans on the way. With nuts and dried fruit, chocolate, apples and the native popcorn all purchased we also stopped off to buy a hat.
Still annoyed about the shoe-shining incident, Ab choose not to have a massage but did stay in the room to talk to me while I had my first ever one. With the Beatles playing in the background she gave me the full body massage and hot stones. It was weird having a stranger touching my body, making it hard to relax but when she started playing with my shoulders it felt amazing.
With time up, we then dropped our food in the room before it dawned on us how much we had to arrange by tomorrow.
Needing walking poles we headed to a rental shop arranging to pick them up later, before rushing to our meeting to find the schedule for the Machu Pichu tour. One day consists of ten hours of walking but we are still really excited.
On the way to pick up our rental equipment, we were confronted, leading to one of the most awkward moments of our lives. Hearing "Oliver" "Oliver" we turned to see Raul, our friend with the paintings, chasing after us. After a long and awkward conversation we promised that we would meet home later before hiding out in our room for the short time left of the night.
