The alarm buzzing at 5 we tried to sneak out of the hostel without paying. All our our attempts were in vain as the landlord apparently had ears of a hawk.
Lugging our things to the office we then proceeded on our adventure via bus. Stopping for breakfast and being advised to buy coca leaves we then arrived at the start of our trek.
Day one could be described as lots of walking, but there were some ancient sites along the way a nice view walking towards one the the snow tipped mountains.
As a group everyone seems a good laugh but there is an American trio as a family who appear to be struggling already.
The porters need their own special mention as they are doing the exact same trek as us, only everyone carrying 25kg on their backs and having to do its lot quicker than us. When we arrived at our camp site, they had already set up all of our tents and started preparing food. They were pretty incredible.
We had been told the food was good with our tour company but that was an understatement. It was amazing. With soups as a starter and platters of food bought out and were all left empty as our group had polished off the lot. Still not feeling well we went to bed in our tent which was a little cold. The whole group followed two minutes later and all tried to sleep with the porters party music still blazing into the night.
