Left Koh Lipe via speed boat in a massive rough sea storm at 9am, got to Pakbara at 11am, mini bus to Hat Hay, left my bags with the bus company and went to explore. I had my hair and nails done while in the cheaper country. Left Hat Hay at 7pm and took one and half hour to get to the Thai Boarder from there.
After both the Thai and the Malay boarder crossings we headed straight for Kuala Lumpur. We arrived there at 5:30am. Had breaky and waited for Debbie to pick me up at 8am as agreed. Her and Ron picked me up and we went straight for breaky (coffee, Pau and Dim Sum).
We went to her lovely condo on the 10th floor with a great view of the city. Had a bit of a rest and then Deb and I went to explore some of KL's best malls in the city. After some successful shopping we headed home.
Montha picked us up at 7:45pm and we started our hour roadtrip to the Firefly sanctuary. Deb, Ron, Montha and I got a guided boat that paddled us on the river passed many a bush with the most amazing sight of so many fireflies under a moonless sky. I had never seen this scale of fire flies before, was so fantastic to experience and watch.
On the way back we went to a seafood restaurant, we had a platter of prawns, calamari, whole fish with 2 pots of tea for RM20 each, great quality for really cheap.
In the morning left the house at 8am, for the Batu caves which was 2 stops from Deb's place on the metro. I walked up the 300 steps to the Hindu temple cave. Was not as impressive as I thought it would be, but nevertheless the view was great.
Went to Chinatown and the twin towers. Got stuck in the KLCC centre due to rain. It finally stopped allowing me to get pictures of these legendary towers which once were the tallest in the world. Went to Bungsar to buy my bus tickets to Singapore for the next day.
Got back at Debs. Ron, her and I went for dinner at the banana leaf,. indian restaurant. I got a lesson in eating with one's hands and enjoyed the lovely meal.
Was an early 6:30am start. Deb and Ron dropped me off at the bus station on their way to work. Could not believe my time with them was over. I had a great time in KL and with them, was so grateful to have met them in Bangkok and again in Penang and now KL :)
