My bus for Singapore left at 9:30am. The bus was pretty cool as it had personal entertainment systems on each chair as they do on aeroplanes. We finally arrived at the Novena centre at 3pm. I got a train to Shyam's place. He picked me up at the station. After dropping my stuff off at his place we went grocery shopping. Him and his mates made a lovely dinner.
I was out the house by 8am as there seemed so much to do in this place. I got to Singapore zoo after taking two buses. I walked around the zoo for almost 4 hours (including taking shuttles), seeing the most amazing exhibitions and animals. I could see why this was said to be one of the best zoo's in the world. Went to little India which was interesting, China town and to theSentosa resort where I walked around seeing the Merlion again. Was so interesting as it was on an island.
Later met up with Shyam and his friend, we walked around Marina bay and centre. Got some pictures of the Merlion and surrounding areas. Was very pretty with all the lights. Went to the garden by the bay. We ran to get the last train and just made it! Was an exciting day in Singapore.
It's my last day in Sout East Asia...how crazy is that?! I met up with a coachsurfing friend who took me to Pulau Ubin Island which is around 20min boat ride from the mainland and forms part of Singapore. It was incredible to be surrounded by nature. We hired bicycles and cycled around the island. We walked up to a lookout tower and were higher than the tree tops with fantastic views. On the way back to the pier we had a gorgeous seafood lunch. We had to wait for the return ferry to fill up before we could get back to the mainland and more importantly for me to be in time to catch my flight.
I made it on time to the airport and am so thankful for the time I was able to have travelling around South East Asia. The culture is so different from what I know, I have seen an experienced much of what I have not seen before. It's truly been an amazing journey...now on to the next continent holding the next adventure.
