Day one on the great ocean road saw us set off on our trip from Melbourne. The drive to the ocean road was about 45mins so not too bad. We started our trip on the road from Torquay…the home of all the surf clothing companies such as rip curl and quicksilver. We headed first to Bells beach to spot surfers. We arrive at Melbourne about 1pm and found a campsite to stay at…although navigating our way to it was very difficult. Melbourne traffic is crazy! You have to watch out as you likely to be hit by a tram at any moment! It was hair raising…especially as lee was driving! That afternoon we decided…if you can't beat em-join em….and caught a tram into the city. Melbourne was not really what I was expecting. So many people have said they loved it...

After a tedious 4 hour drive from merimbula to lakes entrance we decided to stop and look around the area. We had no idea about what Lakes entrance was, or indeed what was there.
