We arrive at Melbourne about 1pm and found a campsite to stay at…although navigating our way to it was very difficult. Melbourne traffic is crazy! You have to watch out as you likely to be hit by a tram at any moment! It was hair raising…especially as lee was driving! That afternoon we decided…if you can't beat em-join em….and caught a tram into the city. Melbourne was not really what I was expecting. So many people have said they loved it….and so many say they hate it…..i can understand them both to an extend but my thoughts lay with the latter. Although the buildings were nice and that….it was very dirty and really unfriendly. It's really not like me to not enjoy a city as you have probably worked out we both love them…but this city did not have that shine to it that the other have. Which is surprising in OZ. We decided to leave early and hit the ocean road with style. After spending four days on the great ocean road we headed back to Melbourne as Kirst was obsessed with going on the Neighbours tour which she could not do the days before. After a very dodgy time and a couple of arguments later with the neighbours office (they screwed up the booking of our tour!) we managed toget on a tour on Tuesday afternoon. Although this was one of my biggest things I wanted to do in Melbourne it turned out to be a bit of a let down. The street where neighbours is filmed, Ramsey street-or pin oak in real life….was being filmed on when we arrived. We were told that when filming takes place we would still be able to see the street and watch the filming. Unfortunately this was not the case and we never stepped a foot into Ramsey street and could not see past the huge production lorries. We did get to meet Declan from the show…which was really good! The good thing was that because the office had screwed up our booking we were able to pick any merchandise that we wanted for free…naturally I went for the book as it has Jason Donovan in it. Lee went for the stubbie holder-surprising. After our neighbor tour we stayed again on a site and the following day we headed the big distance to Sydney. Because we had been held up in Melbourne due to the neighbours office…it only gave us one day to drive to Sydney in…so we drove and drove and drove and drove. About 11 hours later we arrived!
