We met James Robson today. And what an excellent day it turned out to be. James is a happy, healthy and handsome baby. Matt seems to have won that particular genetic battle although shades of Paula are there too. Uncle Andy had the pleasure of a nappy change experience.
We have become so relaxed about getting going in the morning that, even though we were only due in South Yarra at 12 noon, we arrived just in time, after collecting a few supplies along the way.
Matt and Paula were both fit and well. They had just returned from the local grocer with fresh supplies and a simple though excellent lunch was quickly laid out on the table and enjoyed by everyone. J & C sat on the couch and played with James while Amanda and I got to have a glass of wine and some lunch with Matt and Paula.
Then James hopped into his pram and Matt lead us down to the Botanical Gardens for a pleasant stroll. It was a perfect day, about 20° with warm sun shining. They showed us a few of their favourite spots. The view across the Yarra river to the MCG, Rod Laver arena and the soccer ground was pretty good. The hot house had a titan arum - not in flower but impressively huge anyway. Matt had brought his little remote control helicopter which he and Jasper flew around a grassy hill. Coffee at the visitor centre while James had afternoon tea was good and then we headed back.
By this time, dinner was on the mind. Thai take away was procured and another excellent meal with flowing conversation followed. J & C were kept entertained by the PS3 until we said our goodbyes. We have borrowed some DVDs from Matt, and I left my new hat behind, so we are planning to see them all again before we leave Melbourne.
