We have arrived in Bangkok today at 4pm local time. We were lucky to make the London to Bangkok flight as we were delayed at Newcastle. Another family were in the same position as us, we have never seen a 75 year old man run so fast for so long through the airport, trying to run while crying with laughter was difficult. Although we have made it here our bags haven't and hopefully should arrive tomorrow, so its off to the shops tomorrow for some flip flops!
The taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was an experience, lashing down with rain driving on the hard shoulder and in between lanes. Adam thought every temple we passed was the 'golden one'. Lots of fancy buildings side by side with what looked like heaps of scrap metal but was actually peoples homes.
We've had our first thai meal, without any nutty reactions on my behalf which is good. We met a couple from Sydney at our hotel who were on the same flight as us. They've been giving us tips for Australia already, don't swim in the water at night or you'll be eaten by a crocodile! One to remember.
So were off to wash our clothes now (well I am, Adam's quite happy wearing the same underpants again) and to try and get some sleep although we are feeling wide awake.
Hopefully there will be some pictures on here soon of us with our belongings and seeing the sights of Thailand.

Aamir anbd Barbara Just talking with Paul and Dawn, they are at our house for a drink for my birthday (you forgot it,didnt you?). Your parents are having their second honeymoon, so take your time and we will try to keep them apart!! Barbara has asked me to remind you to go visit an elephant sanctuary.
