Hi everyone (by adam)
After partying on Phi Phi island we headed for the more quiet koh Lanta. Our friends john and laura were already there so they advised us on a good hotel for cheap cheap cheap!! It worked out 6 pound a night and it was literally 20 meters from the beach!
We took a van/car/van/ferry to koh lanta and it was hard work! The van konked out half way there luckily it was right outside a mechanics shop and this super mechanic some how fixed it! We arrived in the afternoon and were well impressed with our room so we just sat on the beach infront of our hotel and watched the sun set which was probably the best one weve seen so far!
We met up with john and laura that night and we had managed to pick up an envelope earlier in the day from phi phi that john and laura had hidden in their pillow case for safe keeping it was full of money and a credit card haha so we saved the day! Normally its the other way round!
We had tea just sitting on the beach and it was a good atmosphere. We had to move inside because the heavens just opened and it started thundering and lightening it was pretty impressive! At one point we saw a massive fork lighting strike down at sea and you could literally see the water explode as it hit! Koh lanta was quiet it didnt have all the crowds of phi phi and was more scattered restaurants on the beach front with a more chilled out vibe. The bar next to us served 'mong shakes' which were milk shakes with magic mushrooms but that shisha pipe the night before was enough for me, louise had a couple ........ just kidding! haha
The next morning we both had our eye on a thai cookery course, so we just went for it and booked it that night for the following morning. It was excellent we got a recipe book each and our aprins lol all that was missing was a chefs hat!! It was a class of ten and we all had our own preperation table and our cooking stove the dishes we cooked were;
- tom yum chiken soup
- pad thai
- Vegtables in oyster sauce
- thai green curry paste (we made it by bashing the stick into the bowl thing) -louise isnt here to help me!! haha i think its called a pedastil and motor!
- chicken thai green curry
We got to eat everything we cooked but what we couldnt eat we got in a doggy bag to take home. We ate for free that night and it was the best thai green curry we've had! haha it was the last chance we had to do a thai cooking course cause we were moving onto malaysia next i think langkawi!
love Adam and Louise xx
ps- lousie didnt spellcheck it for me so fingers crossed!!
