We awoke this morning and got stuck into the Special K. After a quick check of the emails it was time to assemble for the boat cruise. We boarded into two mini buses and headed towards Nice beach. We had been in the bus about ten minutes when the driver got a phone call and was told we left three people behind. Unfortunately that meant we had to go back and get them putting us behind time.
The bus journey took two and a quarter hours which in a mini bus with no air con you really start to feel. Poor old Laura again started to feel ill by the time we got there but made it to the port. Once at the port we had 15 minutes to buy and eat lunch which was a Chicken Tikka Baguette. We jumped back into the mini bus and was dropped off onto the boat.
We made our way out onto the water and were immeadiately greeted by the guide Sean from Ireland. He started to talk about the houses we could see on the way out which we in a part of France known as Saint-Maxims. We showed us a nudist beach (typical) and the house owned by the King of Sweden and he told a few jokes and pointed out houses that we would get closer too later.
After turning the boat closer to Saint-Tropez he showed us we the boat was anchored when the photos of Princess Diana and Dodi were taken before that day in August. We were then shown houses owned by people such as Lance Armstrong, Bryan Adams, MGM studios, the US government (safe house), Briget Bardot, Conrad Hilton, Heineken, Opel and many more.
We then docked in Saint-Tropez and were given two hours to look through the village and go star-hunting. We wandered for a little and I swear I saw Cameron Diaz although Laura reckons that I was wrong. We walked around the dock and across the main beach, then into the back streets of the town. To be honest I think we are glad we saw it but both believe that it has nothing on some of the places in far North Queensland so perhaps we should keep that a secret.
Anyways we made the long bus trip back to Nice where Laura made some big bowls of past for us to tuck into. Tomorrow we are going to do a beach day and walk around Nice to see what it has to offer.
