Flying over to Massachusetts today!! Convention time!!

I had told my host Andrea that I would leave around 8am for the half hour uber to the airport for my 10am flight. She offered to drive me! Such a sweet lady! So we left around 7.45am and lucky we did because there was so much traffic. At one stage I said "I wonder where everyone is going" and she said "um, work!". Oh of course, silly me, I forgot people still did that...

Made it in plenty of time though and the flights were boring. About 2 hours to Atlanta, change planes, and another 2.5 hours to Hartford, Connecticut, then a half hour uber to my hotel, the Sheraton in Springfield.

So here's the best thing of all time...they upgraded me, goodness knows why, and I'm on the top floor exclusive club members only area, with a massive king bed room with a JACUZZI!!! Bazinga!!! I also have free breaky in the mornings and free appetisers between 5-9pm.

It was just gone 6pm so I dumped my bags and went straight to find Rufina's & Sze's room (couple from my club) and said a quick hello as they were on their way our to dinner as part of the round dance portion of the convention they've been at the past few days. Arranged to meet them afterwards at the round dance hall around 9pm.

So back to my room to settle in, freshen up, and of course I had to check out the free appetisers. Wow what a spread! Cheeses, fruits, hors d'oeuvres, soup, softdrinks, juices, carrot sticks and other veggies...amazing!!

I wandered down to the hall around 9pm and watched the rounds until they finished around 11.30pm, then went for a drink at the hotel bar. There was a whole group so they invited us to join which was nice.

Called it a night around 12.30am. We didn't hear from Lorraine & Graham (the other couple coming from my club). They were supposed to arrive around 8-9ish I think she said, but apparently lots of flights have been delayed due to weather, so we will find them in the morning.

Rufina and I are meeting in the morning to check out the stalls of square dance apparel and get in early for best pick!

Bring on tomorrow...I'm ready to get into the dancing!
