Well it's our last day in Hamburg, and we are up early, ready and dressed up for Poppy's big day. We arrived at the O2 centre outside Hamburg at 9.30. It's a centre that holds about 10,000 I'm guessing.
The event starts with a gospel choir, some announcements, and then a performance by Andre' Rieu. I wouldn't have minded seeing him, as I was in the front row but Paige really really had to go to the toilet...........
There was a didgeridoo player, and then Poppy was announced as the leader of the world, whoops I mean International Lions, for the next year. Then there were presentations to lots of people, and leaders of each country were announced.
The Aussies all marched around the arena led by bag pipers, really cool to watch, and they are a really excitable bunch.
After the event ended at about 1.30pm, we were taken back to hotel for a luncheon, with all the VIP's of international Lions, which went till about 4pm and ended with the best chocolate fondant I have ever had, so rich.
After a big day we layed around for a while, had takeaway for dinner and started packing, another big day tomorrow.
I have to finish today by saying how well we have been treated, like royalty in fact. Starting with our rooms at the Grand Elysee hotel, five star. Every event we went to the Lions International staff knew who we were, seated us up front, or in special VIP stands, provide lunches, beautiful buffet breakfasts every day at the hotel, and gave us a driver, yes a driver for the week, who took us to Lions events, but also wherever else we wanted to go, god I miss Ingmar already..............
Poppy has a saying he uses and we always laugh at him, he says "did you tell them who you are" meaning being related to him. This is the only week I can say using that would have made a lot of sense.

Kizzie Sounds like a wonderful experience Leanne and I'm sure Bazza would have been very proud of his family being there to support him in his"Crowning moment"...
Karen Bird Do you think I could get away with using his name? I think I'll give it a shot anyway! I'm enjoying living a luxurious life through your eyes, Princess Leanne. Enjoy the next stage! I'm so executed! Check out the cooking classes! xxx
Dierdre Congratulations to the new King! All those good times bestowed upon him and his family! See if you can smuggle Ingmar into your bags ;) KB - I've tried using Baz's name in Berowra before, even referenced his placement on the stamp! It doesn't get you anywhere other than the back of the queue at the takeaway. Sorry (hahahaha). Thrilled to hear you're all having such a great time Lee! x
Jane Wow you have been very spoilt.
