Hello, we have been to see Chichen Itza today, an impressive set of Mayan ruins. We arrived at Piste, the nearest town, yesterday but we found that our hotel had satelite TV, and there was an Englnd match on, so we watched that instead. 4-0, we are now big fans of Steve Mclaren! At least we could then go and see the ruins in the morning which was a bit cooler. We also went to watch the sound and light show. This was a bit underwhelming but the translated commentary was quite interesting. The ball court at Chichen Itza was really large and well preserved, however on the whole Ed prefers Palenque and Zoe prefers Uxmal. We have been enjoying the Yucatecan cuisine with lots of yummy grilled pork and chicken. We are currently waiting for a bus to Tulum, and our final set of ruins (only having been to 10 already). From then on we are on holiday on the Caribbean coast!
