Early start up at 4:15am for the Grand Canyon stopping at Hoover dam on the way. I think it was about a three hour drive the final part being over a dirt road through the Arizona desert. Yesterday shopped all day! Went to Pro Bass store in Nevada where they also have a rifle range, archery range and everything you can imagine for fishing, camping and hunting. Forget the bright lights of Vegas - the photos of the Grand Canyon just don't do it justice. Stunning! Loved every minute of the helicopter flight over the Mojave Desert to the west rim of the Canyon. We are now trying to organise kayaking on the Colorado River and the Skywalk.

Left Washington DC this morning and had to travel to Nevada via San Francisco - arrived in Las Vegas tonight. Long day travelling and the highlight was being upgraded to economy plus on our second flight, which almost made up for the woman sitting behind Zoe on the first flight who sounded as if she had the plague.
