Easy day today - Anderson Cooper talk show taping this morning followed by someone who will remain nameless (Jaydene closely followed by Zoe) passing out from exhaustion (and no, it wasn't the 41 year old!!!) The afternoon was spent shopping at Apple and Bloomingdales and a look at FAO Swartz (world's biggest toy store). We've seen Mall Cops, Postal Cops, NYC Police, and armed marines. Started off today walking, shopping, walking and walking. Even Jaydene (ex cross country captain) is knocked up so I'm feelin pretty good to have kept up. Visited a JC Penny store, Victoria's Secret and B & H (the World's largest Camera Store) which was an amazing setup with conveyor belts running overhead carrying people's orders down to the pay and collect section. Subway's suddenly become my worst enemy with line closures and detours but only on the lines we need to travel on!!!! Anyways, arrived about 45 minutes early for our Harlem gospel and heritage tour. It was bitterly cold and somewhat deserted when we arrived. Very un-nerving and was thinking of jumping in a cab to get outta there. Stood out like a shags on a rock so went and waited in a pharmacy - there's only so many tissues and toothpaste to feign interest in.....

Visit to American Museum of Modern History. WOW nothing compares to this. We started with a tour guide then went our own way. The displays were brilliant and the building was beautiful. That took most of the day and we walked back via Central Park with a stop at John Lennon's memorial Strawberry Fields. Zoe and Jaydene (and me) love Central Park. Security here was tight with sniffer dogs, guards, police and scans...... Surreal to visit a place i saw on tv news almost 12 years ago. Also visited Empire State Building views from 86th floor were amazing - steel, cement and yellow cabs for as far as the eye can see! We'll go to the Rockefeller centre tonight for a night view of NY. It's a beautiful city and quite clean when you consider the millions and millions of people who live here. They say it might snow...
