We arrived in Santa Cruz at about 9am and we all caught at minivan to the main square where we went looking for accommodation. Once we were settled in and showered we went to check out the town. This town was not that exciting as we ended up in the Irish pub for a few hours and then again went walking to find another pub down the road. It was getting late so we decided to get a taxi to the main pub district. Six of us squeeze into the taxi and away we go thinking the taxi driver knew where we wanted to go but with our great Spanish we were going to the wrong place. We did a U-turn and the taxi man was like I will take you to this bar I know that is good. We get there and its shut, but he goes up to the door and they open up, then the owner comes over and explains that he's not open but if we want to come back in an hour the girls get 1 free drink (Junior was the only guy). He also invites Junior upstairs to show him the bar to prove that its cool. So then we go off to find something to eat and we find this weird place which was like a children's playground/restaurant but had good looking food. Most of us got our meals reasonably quickly but two of the girls had to re-order a few times as the kitchen kept running out of what they wanted and then got sent out totally different things to what they ordered. They finally got their meals about two hours after we had first ordered. Great to be back in Bolivia. After dinner we headed back to the bar and it turned out to be one of the funkiest bar we have seen in the whole of South America. The owner saw us come in and kicked some locals off our reserved table and brought us some really good cocktails. We stayed there for a while then left as we were moving on quite early the next day.
