Granada was nice with colourful colonial buildings but that was about it. We only stayed the 1 night before headed to Laguna de Apoyo. Laguna de Apoyo is known for the cleanest, clearest water in Nicaragua and I would agree with that but the others weren't hard to beat. We stayed night on the lagoon with in room overlooking it. Ometepe island is 2 volcanoes joined together situated in the middle of Nicaragua Lake. The ferry was only 1 hour from the mainland and then we caught a taxi from the ferry town to a little town called Santa Domingo. This town was tiny with only about 5 restaurants and 2 hostels that's it. This was nice though after a few big nights in San Juan del Sur.
