Today, we went to multiple memorials. The first memorial we went to was the Marthin Luther King Jr. Memorial, then we went to the FDR memorial. It was interesting to see the timeline of his life and how the memorial showed an acceptance for disabled people in multiple ways. When we went to to the Jefferson Menorial and that's when I realized how philosophical Jefferson truly was. After the memories, we went to the Natural History Museum in The smithsonian mall. We got to see the hope diamond and other priceless jewels. After that, we went to The Capital and took a tour and it was cool to see the statues that represented each of the fifty states. One thing I learned was that you are not supposed to sit down in the floor in the Capital because it's a sign of protest and that you need a special permit to protest in Washington D. C. After that, we went to the Library of Congress. Unfotunately, it was closed but right outside we got to see a man excercise his freedom of speech by yelling by the stairs of the Library of Congress. We finally got to see the Whit house and some of the snipers even waved at us. By the White House was another protest against nuclear power/weapons that has been going on for over thirty years which really surprised me. I cant even imagine how much dedication you would need to protest for thirty years. During the night, we went to the Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam War Memorial. The Korean War Memorial was so realistic and Creepy, it must have been so humid for them. After that we went to the Lincoln Memorial and there, I was able to see what looked like the silhouette of Robert E. Lee which made my wonder whether it was just a coincidence or if it had some typ of symbolic meaning of peace or forgiveness.
