Hi all, im back! Only went and lost my phone somewhere in Malaysia didn't I.
OK so we arrived in Kuala Lumpur midday and got a ride straight to our hostel called Reggae Mansion. It was a pretty cool place with its own bar restaraunt and nightclub. The dorm was great, each person gets their own little pod to sleep in!
That afternoon we had a gander around the markets and got some cheap nicknacks. Walked around a really nice temple called Sri Mahamariamman. Headed back to our hostel for some food. I got a Malaysian lamb curry burger and Kirstie got chicken with fried rice which was served in a pineapple. Nice.
We checked out the hostels rooftop bar that night and had a few buckets. You could see the KL tower and the patronas twin towers all lit up.
The next day we booked ourselves on to the 7 wonders tour of the city. 1. National monument 2. The royal palace 3. Batu caves 4. Tin factory 5. Patronas towers 6. Mosque 7. Merdeka square.
Would recommend the batu caves. It has the highest standing statue of lord murugan, In the world. As you climb the million steps to the top of the caves theres monkeys everywhere and the actual cave is massive. Also you must see the patronas (twin towers) which is the building featured in the film Entrapment. This is the most impressive building I've ever seen. Trying to take a picture with yourself included is so difficult because of the height and width of the thing. Very unique and awesome!!
After a fun packed day we decided to end our last night in KL with a bang. And bang it went. We needed to be up at 4:45am to catch a ride to the airport for 6. We got in at 4 and stupidly set our alarms to go off in 45mins. The next thing I hear is Kirstie shouting down to me asking what time I make it. 7:10 I said. Oh dear. We never heard our alarms go off. So we had a mad rush and got to the airport after our flight had already gone. in this period I somehow lost my phone :(
We booked on another flight but it didn't leave until 4pm so we had to wait the longest time. We were completely drained and exhausted by the time we got to Thailand and that's is a story for my next blog.
Going out for some street food now. Will write soon!
Xoxo
