Hi Everyone!
It's been a busy 2 days again here in Fuzhou. We have trekked up Mount Gushan with around 2000 steps, when you get to the top it has a beautiful view of the whole city, luckily we hit it right as there wasn't much pollution that day so you could see far. Coming back down all the steps are legs were like jelly by the end!
That night we rewarded ourselves by going to a western bar where only foreigners are allowed all the drinks they can get for £5. The Chinese pay full price. It was great and we also had our first bit of English food - burger and chips.
Today we went to the hot springs which was nice and relaxing. We bathed in Jasmine tea, coconut milk, wolfberry herbs, had a snooze on a hot plate and got pounded by jets trying to make us skinny :)
More interesting facts - the bus costs 10p to go anywhere and they have 'just for laughs' playing on the TVs every time. Chinese women marry in red dresses (the colour of good luck) and take all their wedding pictures like a month before in different locations in the city. The kids school uniform is a tracksuit and when the girls get to middle school they all have to cut their hair into a bob so everyone is the same and it doesn't cause distractions from their work. Chicken feet is a staple food but we haven't tried it yet. And lastly, unfortunately spitting is like breathing, you have to be careful!!
