Hello Everyone tuning in,
I would first like everyone to know my spelling isnt the best nor my English! I will do my best and hopefully you will understand!
We set off on Monday morning to a late start as bus driver arrived late and then got angry with us when we were took a little long saying our final teary goodbye, did he not appriciate it is going to be 18 months time we are back!! Tut tut i say!
We were met with constant problems, firstly traffic and accidents everywhere so not only started late but we also arrived late, however as some were aware we had managed to sort our tickets and had our boarding passes already so we didnt panic!
However when at passport control we were asked to return to the desk we did, but it was a silly nerdy BA person who had deleted all details or current flights and crashed the system so we had to wait and wait and wait until finally 20 mins before boarding we were allowed through and were left to run to plane. (Good job i wasnt holding out on buying camera at airport!)
We arrived in Mexico after a long flight where Hana slept the whole way and i watched back to back films, i was worried i wont watch another for awhile! Mexico airport is strange and full of paperwork and queues took 2 hours to get through!
Once through we met Monica and Graham who were delighted to see us even if we did smell from our 20hour travel fest! They took us out to try our first mexican food and boy we need to man up our tongues and fast, Chilli is hot here!!!!
Tuesday saw us take a lazy day travelling on a bus tour around Mexico City, we saw loads of sights and took some photos. It was great to chill after a very busy week! We ate a chilli lollipop that we got from meal day before, aprantely it is normal for mexicans to spice up sweets with chilli....im not too sure! Tried some more Mexican food in the evening and can say we are adapting to spicy food well. You will see we have enjoyed Mexican drinking too with some hugh margaritas and learning the local way to drink tequila and beer, think i am still too British to venture this way just yet!
Today we were lazying around a massive protest in city centre has caused a lot of problems and we were warned not to get involved so we have spent day sorting to our next travel plans and Skype family and updating photos and blog. After a lot of hassel from family!!LOL!!
Tomorrow we are braving underground and mexico city on our own, going to a free zoo! We want to check out some mordern art things cos they look funky and may make pictures interesting :)!!!
Then on Friday we pack our bags and start to live the true travelling style in Acapulco, travelling by bus for only 5 hours(thats short trust me) and hostelling it up in the centre, we chose the one that said it was right in the heart of the party scene :)!!! There for the weekend and then we journey up towards La paz in Mexico not Bolivia to check out Sea of Cortez.
We could now stop being internet geeks as we will have to realiy on wifi and not home internet like here at present!
Sorry i have spoken for so long, i will leave you all now to carry out your normal day to day tasks and will tell you of our adventures in Acapulco (im excited i can spell it now and i am also singing the song to myself please all join me!!)
Loves and Kisses Becki & Hana (who is currently sleeping and its only 7pm!!(She is suffering jet lag i think!) xxx
