Waking up with a hefty hangover, the last thing we wanted to do was head out, but we are only in Vang Vieng once so we decided to get a tuck tuck to the blue lagoon and climb up into a cave, and what a away to sweat out a hangover in the mid day heat, with a 25 metre steep hike ( in flip flops!) up to the cave. After a few selfies at the top, we decided to go into the cave, torches at the ready! Struggling under and over rocks we found more opportunities to take a few more pictures. We then found the bigger cave. It was HUGE, and pitch black, and even with the trusty torches we could barely see the other side. We each took about 5 steps into the cave and chickened out as it was far too dark for any of us to venture into! It was then an afternoon down by the blue lagoon soaking up the sun and after a heart thumping moment we all jumped off the 8 metre tree into the beautiful blue waters. Our first adrenaline rush of the trip! We then headed back to Vang Vieng for our 6 hour bus journey to Luangprobang. Shock! Another bad bus journey, with being the last being people on the bus we drew the short straw. Kelly hopped in the front only to be elbowed every 30 seconds when the driver was changing gear, Charlotte was right at the back with the smallest possible seat, as the girls in front had broken, so she was practically on top of her. Georgie found the bus journey very peaceful as she slept the whole way armed with her trusty neck pillow!
Arriving in luangprobang after a very bumpy bus journey, we dropped our bags off at central backpackers and hit up some street food, which surprisingly Kelly was actually looking forward to! We have now managed to turn her into a full time noodle eater, which at the beginning of the trip we didn't even think would be possible! Armed with our chopsticks we digged into what was possibly the best street food we have had on our trip so far! And it only cost us 15,000 kip, which is £1.10.
