Melbourne Part 2
Friday 1st August - Friday 15th August
So came the start of our 6th month away from home and we moved into the flat on Faulkner park, suppose yo could call it our first real place since being married. Corinne had to nip over to the nursery to finalise the last few bits so that she could start work on the monday, this left wolfie to unpack all by himself. In the afternoon we had a bit of a roast dinner with Richard our new flat mate, chatted shared some stories, pictures and a bottle of red. Later that evening we went to watch Ben Lee of whom we used one of the songs at the wedding the 'were all in this together' song when we walked out. The warm up act was a bit poo but oh well you can't win them all.
On Saturday we took use of the free washing machine (apart ffrom aving to buy our powder) and done some washing, whilst it was drying we had a walk down to the Prahan markets some 10 minutes walk from our place. It was really cool full off fresh cheap food, bags of veg and fruit for $1, fresh meat and fish with samples to try, a little area full of the flavours of italy and the middle east with sauces, dips and breads to taste. We bought some fresh fruit and veg for the week.
Sunday was a quite one as wolfie was working a night shift, so spent some time in bed, as pretty much the rest of the week being down to our LAST $100. Corinne started her new job which she was really enjoying. Wolfie done lots of night shifts and we joined BLOCKBUSTER (the video/dvd rental place). The best part of the week was wolfie getting paid woo woo some money.
So Saturday 9th August rolled around and after some lunch and a trip to the market it was time for a truely Victorian (state of australia) experience, an aussie rules football game. We got tickets at the famous MCG (melbourne cricket ground) for the collingwood and St kilda game, as the girls in wolfie's work were saying you kind off have to be a little inbred to support collingwood and being we started off in St kilda we decided to barrack for them. So scarf and all we rolled on in, the ground is immense seating over 100'000 fans. The game was cool although St Kilda lost would love to go into the rules and how its played but it would take farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to long so if your really interested ask me (wolfie) and will email you.
On the Sunday we went to the chocolate rush festival a kind of chocholics fantasy, exhibitors giving away free samples. They had come from all over the state was so nice, drinking chocolate, solid chocolates, truffles you name it they had it. There was even an adults only section with willy shapped chocolate and girls wrestling in chocolate. Corinne loved trying all the chocolate and we left with a few bits, Very nice. In the evening we had a sunday roast dinner and watched a DVD.
Really not much to write about the week as we were both working hard to save up for the next part of the trip.
