Time Leaving: 9:00 a.m. Temp: 53 degrees
Saying for the day: It all begins and ends in your mind, what you give power to has power over you, if you allow it.
Off to Hurricane Ridge today in Olympic National Park. We start at 59 degrees and 400' at the base. We drive through 3 tunnels on the way up at 2700'. When we arrive at the top, we are at 68 degrees and 5240'. What's with the higher temperature? We don't care, it's nice not to have heavy coats on.
There are lots and lots of wildflowers on the way up, all along the roadside. Broadleaf Lupine, Cow Parsnip, and American Bistort that smells like dirty socks!
We took a nice hike and had to walk in snow a good bit of the way on the pathway. Lots of deer wandering around the area as well.
Mt. Olympus, the tallest mountain in the Olympic Range and by only 200' - it stands at 7980'. The whole mountain Range was covered in snow.
In the evening we went over to Russ and Cheryl's and played some Mexican Train; we had lots of howling fun! It was a real close game the whole time, but Russ ended up with the win.
Today was a beautiful and really relaxing day for one of our last days here.
How long staying: 3 more nights
