Today when we woke it wasn't raining, for a change, so we decided to take the boat trip around the coast to Santa Margharita Ligure,Portofino and San Frutuosco Abbey. By the time we got to Portofino it was raining. This was very disappointing as I know how beautiful this place is when it's sunny. Luckily Gary packed the umbrellas. We wandered around for an hour and hopped back on the boat to San frutuosco. This is an Abbey built in the 10th century that is only accessible by boat or walking track. Still raining so we did the tour of the Abbey. When we came out the rain had stopped. The Abbey is in a little protected bay and the colour of the water can't be described. It is an aquamarine almost royal blue colour and very clear. Got off for another look at Portofino minus the rain and another gelato of course.
