4th September
I know that I've said it before but this city is truely amazingly beautiful. Around every corner is another spectacle. Today after being woken by the church bells at 7am, well they woke me anyway, we went on a boat cruise on the Vltava River. It was on a cute little old wooden boat and the tour guide was full of interesting info. There are 17 bridges accros the river and it flooded to 8m high in 2002. It was good to see the beautiful buildings from the water. After the cruise we walked through the Jewish Quarter and back to Old Town Square. Lots of people at the astronomical clock many more than last night. On the hour the skeleton rings the bell and the windows at the top open. Lunch was in the sqare as well. The photos of the metro walls are amazing. Each station is a different colour. Sure beats plain old cocncrete. You can tell when the train is coming by the sudden rush of wind through the tunnel. Tonight we walked to the Zizkov radio tower and caught the lift up to the observation tower at 93m. The view was pretty spectacular. Yes they are babies climbing the tower. Very cool. Will have some night shots for you tomorrow.
Tomorrow we leave a day earlier than expected to fly to Milan and then drive to Venice. Only way we could get there. I will be really sad to leave this beautiful city.
