We left Vegas with a skip and a jump in our steps. We are super lucky to work for cool clients like the Chili Peppers and to have family and friends to both hook us up and especially to enjoy it with. Amazing adventures. We stopped at the Hoover Dam on our way to Phoenix.
Jeff and I remember our family trips through the Hoover Dam. It was incredible that we all drove through the dam directly. Now there is another freeway that goes around it. There is also a security check prior to engering the area, and of course we were "randomly" selected to have our truck searched. Everything went smoothly though, and we were on our way in a jiffy.
We stopped just past the dam in the free parking area, and walked down to see the dam and bridge. It is an amazing engineering feat and a cool site to see. There was a boat that got chased out of there by the police boat. It was kind of fun to watch the other boat get out of there at top speed. The ducks in the water way down below looked like postage stamps.
The water level seemed really low, you could see the white lines where the water usually is. The Colorado River on the other side wasn't gushing, more of a lazy pace. We could have jumped in with our tubes. It was super cold though, and I was wishing I had worn my boots instead of my flip flops for the drive.
We hopped back in the car, and were on our way to Phoenix. We all wish we had time to go stop at the River House.
