White Satin
Awoke to a bright new day but it wasn't long till the clouds thickened. Still, all the forecasts said it was safe to go - yippee!
Readied White Satin for departure while we waited for her to float off the mud at Swale marina. By 11:45 Roger eased us out of our berth and into Conyer Creek. We waved farewell to the smashing little marina and out into the Swale.
By 12-30 we were passing Harty Ferry, where we had hoped to anchor a couple of days ago. The tide turned and helped carry us out into the Thames estuary. The sun, though not constant, made a welcome appearance and we continued motor-sailing on a beautiful flat sea past Whitstable, Herne Bay and Margate, bound for Dover.
