More pancakes from Daddy and Lily this morning accompanied by coffee as we are on a powered site and can use the coffee machine- yay! Mummy had planned some schoolwork so we spent some time before filling up the bladders in our backpacks and heading off on the gorge lookout trail-6km return. Can’t say it was much to write home about and certainly didn’t warrant the glossy map that accompanied each trail. We have been spoilt with beautiful gorges I know, but this was really just a walk through some paddocks up to a cliff overlooking an unimpressive river. We ended up letting Stu lead the way which meant we backtracked a few times, he happily jogged back the last km way out in front. Back to the pool (bar) for the afternoon, at least we did some exercise! A local lady sold us a boab tree nut she had carved. We also succumbed to booking dinner at the restaurant so we all enjoyed beautiful hot showers first- which we had to coax Stu out of .... he’s insisting on having his own showers now and just stands there under it until we bang on his door and threaten to come in. We were in a hurry to catch the sunset over the Ranges and could see it was already a beautiful pink colour, upon reaching the lookout the light had almost left the top but still beautiful and Matt could get a bar of Telstra as a bonus. Dinner was beautiful too, we were that family that I usually look at longingly happily playing cards and all getting on while we waited for our meals.... they must be tired! Live music was great, so were the steaks and sticky date pudding. Tommy also polished off a huge set of ribs and we retired very full and content.
