Little man was awake not long after 5 and pretty keen to rip into pressies, was less than impressed with the 100’s board he got to practise his numbers. A few other bits and pieces and we pretended there was nothing left to open drawing out the garmin shaped surprise as long as we could. He was stoked as he well should be and kept thanking us during the day saying that he thought we didn’t have a hundred dollars mummy. Daddy made canpakes and we spoke to the grandies. Set about having a bit of a restock / small repairs day, Stu busy making friends in the park with his new beyblades. Lil and I went for a cheeky look at Cygnet Bay’s pearl showroom before we went to Woolies and filled a trolley with no idea how I would pack it all into trailer. Managed to get it all in with a bit of vacuum packing- that Aldi vacuum sealer has paid for itself. No idea if this food will last us for 3 weeks, I know all the fresh stuff will run out pretty quick but am hoping I have enough meals with a semblance of veggies albeit frozen, tinned and dried to make it along the Gibb.
With all our jobs done we headed to our Red Camel Pre-sunset tour which was an awesome way to end the day, everyone loved it, Matt was getting some nips from the camel behind him though, which were getting a bit friendly. Cable Beach (the northern side) was not only home to camel tours, it also catered for the nudists and 4WD enthusiasts - not a mix you think might work but it did! Nude sun baking I can understand but nude fishing? Don’t see the point. Made great entertainment for our kids anyways.
Polished off with a beautiful sunset dinner at the restaurant right on beach, kids did their best impressions of being turds after dinner so no lingering drinks for mum and dad. Broome you are beautiful and we’d like to spend some more time here one day to savour what you have to offer.
